Not sure if this is the correct form but I have just posted the following message on the 'general' list so I thought it courteous to repeat it here. Also, for the benefit of the Ships List, I live in cambridgeshire.

Just a few lines to introduce myself to my new mess mates.

I am a wargamer of more years than I care to remember but am little more than a Powder Monkey when it comes to Naval warfare. That said, I am fast learning about attitudes to the wind and how best to fight the ship! I am originally from the port of London but have lived inland in East Anglia (Nr. Peterborough) for the past 33 years or so. Due to circumstance I have mostly been a solo wargamer but I understand that SOG can be adapted for such. I look forward to witnessing a 'real' game at some stage in order to hone my general understanding of the rules.

I must also thank my Admiral of the Blue for his warm welcome aboard.

God Save the King!

:hatsoff:You are quite correct to introduce yourself on your own forum Ken.
It now allows me to welcome you to the Anchorage officially on behalf of the Royal Navy personnel based here in the UK.
If you stow your kit and have a look around, we will welcome you into the Wardroom for a tot or three and a general chinwag.:drinks:

One point of interest you may wish to know is that a group of us will be doing a Demo game at the Hammerhead show on Saturday the second of March at the Newark Showground. You would be most welcome to join us.

Thank you Rob, I'll certainly be there. In fact I went to last years Hammerhead and there was a Naval battle being demonstrated in the main hall, I think it may have been 'Fighting Sail' but was it you?
