This coming October 6th, 2018 at the Council of Five Nations convention in Schenectady, NY, (see http://swa-gaming.org/council) I'll be running an abridged version of the Battle of Trafalgar with the OB below. The OB is subject to change with the release of new ship models (Santisima Trinidad, hopefully), or based on input from those more knowledgable that I. I might also slip the HMS Africa in since the model is available. Please feel free to comment.

The British have a point advantage over the combined fleet, but I think that is necessary for them to carry the action to the enemy.

British:

Weather Column:

HMS Victory, 104 200
HMS Bellona, 74 (Leviathan, 74) 135
HMS Brittania, 100 187
HMS Spartiate, 74 144
666

Lee Column:

HMS Royal Sovereign, 100 192
HMS Hibernia, 100 (Dreadnought, 98) 212
HMS Defiance, 74 134
HMS Defence, 74 135
673
1,339

French/Spanish:

Duguay-Trouin, 74 144
San Francisco de Asis, 74 139
San Agustin, 74 151
Redoutable, 74 150
Santa Ana, 112 213
Le Swiftsure, 74 135
Principe de Asturias, 112 210
Le Berwick, 74 135
1,277

That would be excellent! I'm always looking for anything that will add to the historic nature of the battle.

Thanks

I took some photos too -- mostly of the lee column that Peter and I commanded. I'll post them when feeling better -- had a bad fall in heavy rains that were remnant of Hurricane Michael and broke elbow and a rib --thus keyboarding a bit of a challenge.

I add my wishes for a speedy recovery to those of Chris, Bill.
I recommend plenty of liquid refreshment in the meantime.
Best taken indoors sitting down so as not to cause a repetition of the injuries.

Bill:

Sorry to hear about the injuries. Having broken a rib in the past, you're in for six weeks of no fun. Hope your elbow doesn't cause too much trouble on top of that. I'll get my AAR (with pictures) on the game posted this weekend.

Where in Mass are you? I just left Cape Cod to retire to Maine. I grew up down in Fairhaven.

Fairhaven has part claim to the first successful naval engagement in the AWI, capturing a British vessel. Britain then paid a visit, captured Fort Phoenix in Fairhaven and then proceeded to burn neighboring New Bedford. Article 'HERE' (http://usnhistory.navylive.dodlive.mil/2015/04/11/naval-battles-of-the-american-revolutionary-war/)

Here in Maine Machais made a claim to the first engagement but it is actually the second. Article 'HERE' (http://www.waymarking.com/waymarks/WMQ728_First_Naval_Battle_of_the_American_Revolution_Machias_ME)

I live in the Bradford section of Haverhill. Where are you in Maine? Have you been to Huzzah!?

I'm in Ellsworth. Yes, been to all but one Huzzah!. This past one I ran 3 Wings games on Saturday and 1 on Sunday. I think Bill played in a SoG game you ran? We'll have to coordinate schedules next year.

Have you ever been to HAVOC?

Next year I hope to start going to Carnage on the Mountain instead of Fall In.

Haverhill, my wife has a daughter that lives there.

Thanks Rob & Michael for the well wishes. No way to put a cast on a broken rib, so 6 weeks of pain (don't cough or sneeze) ahead. Rob -- I like your idea of administering liquids aplenty -- wise move on the sitting down advice ! :drinks:

I've had some difficulty uploading these photos to my album on CoFN, but here goes a try to add them here. Peter (Twosheets on Sails / Teaticket on Wings) and I commanded the lee column in this battle. Thanks to Michael (Knighttyme) for planning, running, and managing the battle so well.

While it was a close run thing, the British were declared the victors !

Ah, our near run thing hey Bill? Captain Wentworth led the way with the HMS Royal Sovereign and the HMS Hibernia, giving the lead Frenchies a thrashing. When I got on the scene with the HMS Defiance and HMS Defence we joined in the fray pell-mell. A boarding was ordered and we summarily took a French prize. God save the King.

Thanks for the pictures of the Action Bill.
Glad you managed to get them done.
For what it's worth I can only load one picture at a time myself.
Rob.
