You may notice a theme evolving.
Do any of you have favorite nautical related Taverns?
Rob.
Welcome back Admiral :salute:
They all look lovely and aptly named too ;)
Thanks Rob.
There were a few more but not as apt for us.

Welcome back, Rob. I sounds like you had a good time.
Welcome back, indeed!
A little time on the shore is never a bad thing as long as it's voluntarily.
Thanks Dave and Jonas.
We had a splendid time and have returned refreshed and ready for the next encounter on the High Seas.
The trip to Portsmouth was more than I anticipated. So many innovations have been made since our last visit about ten years ago. The Mary Rose is now fully restored and the Exhibition Hall is remarkable using all the modern technology to give a rounded snapshot of what it was like at the time.
Also HMS Victory after her refit is now open from Poop to keel instead of just the selected bits we used to see. All in all well worth the price of the ticket, and with a year to run on that who is to say that we will not go back within that time. Eileen will be posting her photos of the Victory when she gets time.
Rob.
I will have to visit her!
Perhaps we could do a joint visit when you have your uniform ready?
What a splendid idea Jonas.
I will have to make it a Vice Admiral's uniform then!
Rob.
That would be great!
I now have an Rear Admiral's undress coat and a hat made for someone of about 1.80 meters and 100(+) kg. I will not promise too much but I could bring that for anyone else who might join us. Would need a waistcoat and trousers.
