The brave Capitaine surveys his small squadron.

30100
The English 74 leaves port to intercept.

30101

30102
Artesien leads the French Frigate Courageuse into battle line.

30103
The two ships approach set on a decisive encounter.

30104
First broadsides are exchanged with dire results for Artesien.
Its almost over before it has begun.
Just the proxy French Frigate to sink now.

30105
The Frigate captain has his own ideas.
His first broadside is very telling.

30106
The reply shows how badly hit the Vanguard is.

30107
Vanguard is forced to tack and the Courageuse comes about.

30108
Courageuse takes another broadside from Vanguard.
Surely that will finish the Frog off.

30109
Still he bravely forges on to certain annihilation at the hands of the 74.

30110
Another hit and now the Frigate is on fire too.

30111
Whilst the Vanguard reloads the frigate intrepidly comes alongside and returns fire.

30112
Sharp shooters from the tops also take their toll on each other.

30114
Vanguard comes about and the crippled Artesien manages to get off a raking broadside with its first
Port broadside of the game.

30115

Not much, but with one last blow from Courageous, Vanguard is forced to strike.

30113

Bravo mon Capitaine Kiwi. Vive la France.

30116

Curse you Frenchmen and your Frigates:hatsoff:.

Wow.

You favourite double shots + first broadsides really make the games quick. :erk:

Should have had it won in that first exchange Sven, but somehow managed to seize defeat from the jaws of victory.

Rob do you know what Cap'n Kiwi is doing for Doncaster? Ie Day (s) and games? I'm about to post the end of week update and slots are filling fast.

Neil

PS: might be worth waiting until I publish the lists on the 'Drome as he might pick slots that have already gone.

The only thing I know for sure is that he wants to do the Nile.
I will most likely see him on Saturday and certainly on Sunday so can ask him then.

Courageuse certainly lived up to her name. Thank you for the good AAR, Rob.

When you are not wearing your glasses, Rob, you look quite like your avatar picture of Captain Bligh. Is that why you chose it?

Thanks for the Rep David.
The Bligh picture was chosen simply because many years ago I read a book which told the real story of Bligh, and I felt that the popular Press had done him a gross injustice.
