I did not find anything significant for the Age of Sail but 10 years ago today the USS Tucson SSN 770 transited past the mouth of Apra Harbor, Guam.

battle of Aspern-Essling, first major check experienced by Napoleon on the battlefield. What made the battle even worse for him is he lost one of his finest battlefield commanders in Marshal Lannes, struck a glancing blow by a cannon ball across his legs..amputation by Larrey could not save him.

30th anniversary of the British landings in the Falklands. HMS ARDENT sunk with the loss of 22 crew, ANTRIM, ARGONAUT damaged. Fifteen Argentinean aircraft shot down. Beachhead secured.

Nope....we have a saying......its "Guam hot".......it would be 90 at night.
