Sven.
I just saw your comment on Wings about Doncaster.
Neil and I wondered how you feel about hosting your Nile game. We could provide all the ships etc for the game. All we would need is your expertise.
Rob.

This could be an option, but I have a bad feeling of someone else carrying the whole stuff for me to a Con... :surrender:

No problem Sven.
We shift huge amounts of kit every time we do a show over here, which is probably about ten times a year.
The ships will be there weather you use them or not.

Hi Sven, as Rob says dont be too concerned over ship availability. I took over 40 1st and3rd rates to this years, plus a further 20 frigates. As I intend to be there again in 2017 to do a sails game there will be ships available

Great Sven.
We look forward to it.

Casabianca (1826)Felicia Hemans

The boy stood on the burning deck,
Whence all but he had fled;
The flame that lit the battle’s wreck,
Shone round him o’er the dead.
Yet beautiful and bright he stood,
As born to rule the storm;
A creature of heroic blood,
A proud, though childlike form.
The flames rolled on – he would not go,
Without his father’s word;
That father, faint in death below,
His voice no longer heard.
He called aloud – ‘Say, father, say
If yet my task is done?’
He knew not that the chieftain lay
Unconscious of his son.
‘Speak, father!’ once again he cried,
‘If I may yet be gone!’
– And but the booming shots replied,
And fast the flames rolled on.
Upon his brow he felt their breath
And in his waving hair;
And look’d from that lone post of death,
In still yet brave despair.
And shouted but once more aloud,
‘My father! must I stay?’
While o’er him fast, through sail and shroud,
The wreathing fires made way.
They wrapped the ship in splendour wild,
They caught the flag on high,
And streamed above the gallant child,
Like banners in the sky.
There came a burst of thunder sound –
The boy – oh! where was he?
Ask of the winds that far around
With fragments strewed the sea!
With mast, and helm, and pennon fair,
That well had borne their part,
But the noblest thing which perished there,
Was that young faithful heart.

Sven how long would you need to run the Aboukir game?

A standard slot of two hours will be fine, I think.

The French line is quick arranged and will be managed by me with paper & pen.

Short briefing for the RN capatains with winning conditions and assingnement of commands.

You must mean this one then Neil.

The boy stood on the burning deck,
His pocket full of crackers.
A spark shot up his breeches leg,
And blasted off his Kneecap.

Something like that Rob. Can't think of a rhyme for Crackers though....Yours is just as good though.

2 hours is excellent Sven. Slot booked.

Thank you.

I hope I'll not block a Slot for an UK veteran. :takecover:

Abukir will see a test game in Decmeber with the Zirndorf flight and I hope the premiere will be late April in Prague.

So two month for preparing ships and care for the mission.

You will be an honoured guest Sven.:salute:
I can get beaten up by the likes of Neil, Simon, Sea legs, or Eileen any old time.
