View Full Version : 5 More Ships
Got lucky on eBay and picked up five more ships. Two are GHQ, USS Constitution 44 and HMS Cleopatra 32. I'm not sure who the manufacturer is for the other three. They come in a bag instead of a blister pack. They are USS Essex 32, Santissima Trinidad 130, La Vengeance 40. I have a GHQ La Vengeance so it will be interesting to see if there is any difference between the two. I also have a conversion of the Essex using a GHQ Cleopatra 32 and it will also be interesting to see how those compare.
My ships came in the mail today. There was not a manufacturer's name on the bags of the three before mentioned ships but I was able to identify them as being Skytrex. The quality is not as good as GHQ models, but still not bad. The Essex model is about the same size and appearence as the GHQ British 32 that I converted. I think my conversion looks better due to the better GHQ quality. The La Vengeance model turned out not to be the 40 gun frigate of that name but a flush deck 20 gun ship sloop. The hull looks good and is about the same size of the GHQ brig sloop. It could easily be used for one of the American flush deck ship sloops. I may use GHQ sails on it. Unfortunately I do not have anything with which to compare the Santissima Trinidad model. In all I'm pleased with them.
Have to let us see what they look like when you are finished painting them.

Sound interesting.
Any chance to see a photo of your new ships? (quality/size)

Nice job. I may have to pick up a ship at Historicon and give a try in building one.
I applaud your shipbuilding skills Bobby.
Bligh.
