And very fine it is too Jonas. slightly better armed than mine which only carried two Mortars.
Rob.
How did you make the mortars? What rules are you using to represent them?
Some pictures from the making of.
First cut the fore and main masts off. I also cut away a bit of the forecastle.
22993
I wanted the mainsail to be up so I drew how I wanted it to look.
22994
Then I cut away guns that would be blocked from use by the mortars. I also drilled holes where I wanted the mortars to go.
22995
Rough cut of the mainsail and added the jibs from a 74. I wanted them to be bigger like the historical bomb ketches.
22996
I drilled the mast and put a thin wire to get the desired height.
22997
Here the sail has been cut to size and a fold been added cut in the plastic.
22998
I used the old candle and plastic sprue frame to stretch the plastic to different thicknesses trick. Thicker for the mast and thinner for the mortars. Warm more for thinner results.
22999
I cut the jibs to be able to give them a lower angle.

Painted, ready to be assembled.

A candle and old sprue! That is quite ingenious!
Looking very good so far Jonas.
It is astounding how useful hot sprue can be and what shapes you can get it into with a bit of practice.
