And superb it looks too. UK Fleet lead the way.
Game one from today's action.
21010
Chris initiates a punter.
21011
The British squadron set out to eradicate the Pirate scourge.
21012
Avast! there they be shipmates.
21013
Black Pearl slips between the British without a scratch.
21014
To add insult to injury Spartiate now gets raked.
21015
Maneuvering is obviously the order of the day.
21016
Belleraphon gives chase.
21017
An exchange of opinions takes place and Spartiate wins the argument.
21019
21018
OOps sorry chief.
21020
The Black Pearl returns.
21021
I open fire with a Raking shot.
21022
And then we trade broadsides.
21023
HMS Bellerophon now goes on to sink the Black Pearl.
Jack Sparrow is reported to be seen rowing away.
Rob.
Game two and three.
21025
The British Squadron sets out full of hope to combat the French.
21026
Not quite the Line of Battle we envisaged.
21027
Oops! Still I should get a stern rake on the Frenchie whilst they are entangled.
21028
What! They did not entangle, and Monsewer has now turned and exchanged broadsides with me instead.
21029
That hurt!
21030
Now I can only get my forward battery on the Frog.
21031
Even more pain
21032
Well that's it for me then.
21033
What can Chris do.
21034
Not a lot and then they all went home very hurt.
Game three.
21036
Cpt Rafer J Larwood joins us, and I go off to photograph the Aeroplanes.
21037
When I get back he is aground.
21038
Never mind we still have two to one now against the Frenchman.
21039
OK one to one now, but ours is undamaged, and Monsewer Citizen Mav is on his last legs.
21040
What do you mean you have run aground too!:erk:
Mav now sailed around the Island and reduced the British ships by raking their sterns.
Too boring to bother with photographs.
A French victory, and I did not have enough Captains left to form a Courts Martial.
Bligh.

Enjoyed today, we had four good games, although we did pick on the pirates a tad with two 74's.
However they did cause a lot of damage nearly causing HMS Spartiate to strike, only one box left

Hi Mike take a look at post5 pics 3 onwards, One of our members has painted three Frigates as the ships from Pirates of the Caribean, Black Pearl etc.
Prriodically on ebay there is someone who sells the ship card and mat insert for the three ships from the film and we used.
Also in the WMMS thread there are a few more pics including a close ip of all three

Just back from Triples weekend. The show was enjoyable but was very light on punters this year.
The sails table did good and we had gamers there most of the day, however looking around the show it was pretty empty which was a shame.
Sunday was even more quiet as a show but got in three games, was a bit tiring as was only me on the table, but really ejoyed the weekend.
Will post pics later in the week

I am experiencing difficulty seeing your pictures, Rob. All I can see are a blue icon, the image reference, the number of views and file size.
No idea what that could be Dave.
I just posted them as normal.
Anyone else experiencing this?
Rob.
Capn Duff

Nope Rob, for me they are all present and clear
They look good to me, too.

Are those islands Kallistra/Hexxon?
Capn Duff
03-21-2016, 02:41
The large green flocked ones are Kallistra mountains from their hex system, the small blue based islands are from the two box sets of Whizkds Pirates Island sets, which I have managed to pick up

Nice pictures and AARs, my friends.
Those different pirate ships look intersting and I really like the setup and the large gaming area.
Three ships run aground in the last game?
Two Brits aground. The other fought to a standstill sinking the other two Frenchies.
Two onto one badly mauled Frenchman should have been a walkover.

Let's see how the admirality in London judges this incident... :erk:

Well one Captain is squeaky clean. The other two had better men of means, so that they have something to fall back on when they are dismissed from the Service.
Here we see the Presiding Senior Captain positioning the sword on the table.

Last weekend saw us attending what was one of the Premier Wargames shows in the UK calendar. This year was quite disappointing from a gamer s perspective as there were not a lot of punters, however both the Wings and Sails tables after a slow start did have people playing most of the time.
Here is the table, showing off our new Banner for Sails

The Table layout, I am trying to get some 3D terrain to break up the Blue table top, so this year I am also using a playing mat from a local Furnishing chain, this is a Blue table covering but has a marble effect which gives a wave impression.

Great guns there Chris was Chris all aground? (He should have stuck to planes, is what Tim would have said.)
Nice addition to our set of pictures Chris.
Things are looking up on the Sails front.
Thanks for posting these.

Great guns there Chris was Chris all aground? (He should have stuck to planes, is what Tim would have said.)
Sailed into action, blasted one Frenchie out of the water - got so excited forgot the scenery (just used to flying over it I guess) - got myself totally run aground - at the crew were able to disembark for a picnic and a game of beach cricket whilst the rest of the battle unfolded. Good fun while it lasted....
:sly: I blame the supplier of the charts, Master, Master's Mate, Helmsman, leadsman, lookouts, Officer of the watch, and any Midshipman in view Chris.
After all the Captain has more than enough on his mind during a battle than to watch out for any great big sandbar, lump of rock, or island that happens to get in his way.
Only just managed to dodge Australia myself and I was in a 14 foot boat without any smoke screen at the time.
Bligh.
