As a complete newbie in this vast ocean I find all the conversions wonderful, yet when my bench has an empty dry dock I haven't a clue what to convert. Wondering if our sages would mind a thread on good conversion candidates to use as a buying guide and conversion tips? Just wondering . . .Clipper slightly awash . . .

I've done some conversions, but for the most part they're really just repaints. Outside of the small US frigates 'conversions' I've stayed away from the statistical side of the game as I lack the knowledge and expertise to go down that path. I was relying on Coog and Diamondback for that data, which you can find in this thread:

http://www.sailsofglory.org/showthread.php?2585-The-United-States-Navy-1797

That being said I think we have several threads going that involve ship substitutions, etc. Diamondback also has posted some awesome tables and stats you might want to take a look at? I've thrown in just a few that I recall and could research quickly. I'm sure there are many more and DB may have files uploaded here also?
