I've picked similar if not the exact model ship for size comparison:
17882
17883
French 118 gun 1st rates
17884
17885
HMS Victory
17887
17886
British 74
17888
17889
Spanish 74/80
17890
17891
British frigate
17892
SoG British frigate to Langton French frigate
17893
All 3 side by side.

Very cool to see the various comparisons. Thanks!!
Looks as if there is more noticeably difference in the larger ships Neil.
You can hardly tell with the Frigates.
I think that for Merchantmen of indeterminable burden it would not matter a jot.
Thanks for that.

Could almost use the Langton 74's as 64's. As you say not much difference in the frigates. The Spanish Langton 74 might just be a 64...I'll have to look at the models again. I only have 5 Spanish and 2 are 64's.
Nice paint jobs on your Langtons Neil:thumbsup::beer:
Neil.
My Spanish are One 80, two 74s, and a frigate with another on the way, so I will be glad when Ares release the new batch of ships.
Rob.
Very nice ships and an interesting comparison.
I've long thought of buying merchants from Langton. With the release of Ares SoG merchants in 2017 I will just get ore diversity. :sly:
Perhaps I should repaint Victory in that pale yellow okra...
I feel that we are going to need Merchant ships long before Christmas 2017 Jonas.
Methinks they are going tom figure in the SoG Solo campaign next year, with the chance of all that Prize money for our poor impoverished Frigate Captains. Therefore, the building of a couple of Merchantmen has to wax large on my New Year resolution list. Port or Starboard I hear you ask. Both says I.
Bligh.
Nicely done, Neil.
One good thing about SoG mechanics is that we fire from printed arcs to bases, so close scaled ships can substitute easily if mounted on Ares bases.
Those Langtons do look nice.
I am very envious of Neil's bases that he can tuck into the existing blue Ares holders.
I wonder if we can get any of those made too.

Got them commercially made by a company in UK. Bought 40 bases, same measurements as the SoG ones, for £22.
Very interesting Neil. That sounds very competitive.
Do you have an address for them please?
