I have made some vacuum formed islands for Pirates of the Spanish Main and Uncharted Seas in the past. If anyone is interested in them I can pm some info.

Those look really the bee's knees Brian. When we did the battle of Vittoria we did not have enough bridges for the river, so I took one of mine into work and knocked off another four on the Vac-Former whilst the boss was on lunch break!
They are ideal for this sort of thing and so light as well. I'm suprised we don't get more of them produced for wargaming.

The terrain does look great. Are you able to produce any suitable to place forts/gun batteries on them?

I haven't tried that yet. Some food for thought.
I have toyed with the idea of including a compass rose for wind direction.

Received the islands today. WOW, I can't believe how great these look. Your pictures don't do them justice.

Thanks much

Not home made but here is an island I made using the Flames of War 15mm terrain. I use different kind of fine and clump ground foam to make it look like there are trees.

Here two islands that are smaller terrain.

Those look very good. Would go well with highly detailed ship models.

Thanks. Larger island need more work but you can do a lot with their terrain. Made them for use with the A&A War @ Sea but now I see they will work well with the Sails ships when they come out.

No noise from the neighbors and a brilliant view, very nice. Bit of a hike to the letterbox though!

Awesome photo. Looks like a great place to live. As mentioned must be quiet except for the waves.

Whow, great. That would be a special playingboard. But on a table in the diningroom.....my Admiral at home thinks different ;)

I can vouch for these islands as I use them for WGS and Pirates of the Spanish Main as well. Great and light weight.

I like the ones above.

I'm waiting to get my hands on rules/ships and the terrain packs but I plan on using a lot of the same terrain options for land-based wargames to make some "terrain" for SoG. Based on what's there in the rules, some reef/shoals, coasts, forts, etc. Should be fun!

Excellent Islands.
It's always cool to see how creative minds can enhance a game.

I should imagine that 3D printing would be good for producing island models.

3D printing would make nice islands. Just heavier and more expensive than my vac formed ones

And most likely, more expensive given the sizes that will be needed.

Has anyone else looked into the Spartan Games Building terrain from their Dystopian Wars and Uncharted Seas game lines? It's 1:1200 and Victorian steampunk/fantasy, so it's a bit of an anachronism, to say the least, but I have the Wharf/Jetty set and I think it works well if you're not too put off by the some historical inaccuracy.

Very nice indeed, i've been using wizkids pirates terrain tiles, islands, sargosso sea,etc._. Flat and cheap but the POTC pocket model game does offer quite a bit for source material on the fly, also parts from an old board game SURVIVE, shark fins, whale fins, row boats and crew. Nice work you have there though.

So much to do. so little time.

This has a very defensible anchorage.
