Yesterday my group gathered to play a game as it had been scheduled a week before. 8 captains plus 2 coatal batteries commanders enjoyed the event as hell;).
I planned a scenario that might have taken place in the Med theatre when a French squadron was trying to pass through a kind of dire strait defended by British coastal batteries and opposed by a formidable British fleet...
The strait of sorts you can see on the left side of the picture. The French were to come from the right, the British from the left...
Victory conditions? Two of the French ships including their flagship had to quit the left side of the battleground...
Standard rules plus optional ones: Let the men drink (Oh yes!), Flagship, First broadside, Variable wind.

The sailors were coming early to take command...
Me on the far left...I know, there is no piracy allowed, but we did our best to engage the young sailors;).

The starting positions...

The British squadron under my command (the flagship...)

The French, scattered by the changing wind...

I forgot to take pics in the heat of the battle, but...
My flagship was sunk and two of the French ships managed to pass the strait (ouuuuch!)
You can see a young Filip, an experienced SoG player of my group, cheering! In fact he helped me a lot tracking the rules and the course of the game.
I am happy these younglings are becoming captains!
