Hello there , how do you run a historical battle, ie a named engagement .... How do you find the ships ? Are most ships available .
Also is there a listing of available ships and whichever series they are from , I have a eclectic mix right now.
Thanks
John

Greetings John and welcome to the Anchorage. Have you looked at Ares main website to see what they have posted for historical engagements? Some answers to your questions might be found there.

There are 10 historical scenarios listed here:

Another site you can check out for listing of ships, etc., is BoardGame Geek:

Remember the old joke, Summer fell on a Thursday this year. Well so far we have had about a fortnight of hot weather. I don't understand it. Must be Global warming, we usually get Global incontinence.
Remember also that fact. Britain gets weather, whilst the rest of the world gets climate.

Welcome aboard, John. :salute:

Some folks here have printed off various cards for ships not offered. You can always make ship logs with numbers you think are historically accurate. We have a committee here on the Anchorage that works on such things, so if you desire numbers for specific ships, start a thread listing them.

When you have a chance, take a gander at our solo play stuff: http://sailsofglory.org/forumdisplay.php?41-2015-Solo-Campaign

Great joke.

We have experienced Global Cooling and Raining this summer. Maybe our nations switched weather patterns for the year.

Welcome John, from the rainy Sweden.

I was in Bath last year in September and the weather was almost too hot and no rain at all.

About the correct ships for a battle, it depends. If it's for a convention I print ships cards and compare broadside weights to choose which stats to use and print those too. I've even repainted hulls to resemble a few if there's a known historical paint scheme. Otherwise I mostly just compare number of guns and what models I have available.
