Scale is everything, which was the point of B&BP. The game played like a war of attrition, though, which doomed it. The command "repel all boarders"meant that every man who wanted to live dived below decks. Boarding actions rarely took more than 10 minutes to complete before some panty waisted midshipman offered the captain's sword to anyone in a hat.

Thanks, Gina.

Very cool.

I posted a link in the BGG thread back to this one.

I never played B&BP, but have been curious for years.

Well, it certainly opens up a whole new controversy in my household.
Instead of arguments over whose turn it is to have the Dining table, a squabble over who gets to use the Sitting room floor.:Arrrr::girlieangry:
My cutting out an enemy ship, or Mrs Bligh cutting out a dress pattern?

I suppose that it provides an incentive to wash the garage floor.:hmmm:

We're contemplating a new place - new to us, that is. Sue said she wants a garage. Naively, I think it would be for our vehicle. I think she probably has this in mind.

This would be pretty cool to do on our local common. I can see the cricket team stopped mid-over to gaze at five or six fellows with large boats, moving them around on the outfield and waving long wooden poles at each other.

Beware Eric.
Initially, I was only supposed to get one Garage as a workshop. The other one was earmarked for the car. First my Extractor unit eased itself into a corner,(thin end of the wedge) followed by my son's woodworking lathe, Eileen's carving bench, bikes and Re-enactment trailer. Now the car stands on the drive.

One of my plans for the 2016 Naval Wargames Show is to do River Plate and Denmark Strait with 1/600 models and using the same ground scale (so we'll be "shooting" over 30-40 yards). There's a very nice and large lawn in front of the museum which will fit the bill nicely
