Apologies for no pics.

Rob (Bligh) invited myself for a small frigate action aft err plunging in and buying a starter set.

Suffice to say we maneuvered well, first shot to myself in the British frigate.

More manoeuvring and Rob was steadily getting the upper hand.

After a disastrous, for the British frigate, exchange Rob made a wrong tack and gave me the chan e to put some distance between'us.

Aha, fooled you Frenchie. The British boldly tacked towards the French frigate, Rob mAnaged to turn and fire the fatal hull shot as we collided.

Boarders away preceded by a full volley of muskets from the marine after guard.

The crew casualties on board the French frigate where it's eventuall downfall.

One British frigate sunk. One French frigate captured.

Honours not so even but a fantastic game.

Assuming this was a one on one ship battle you're saying the British took the French ship as the French sunk the British ship? If so, that would have been quite the battle.

...

One British frigate sunk. One French frigate captured.

...

That's the question:

Who captured the French frigate?

I would call this a tight French victory.

That's the question:

Who captured the French frigate? Why of course the British did. And as the French frigate was slightly better then honours to the senior service.

I would call this a tight French victory.

But it was a damn good game all the same.

Only just spotted this Neil.
As you say a very close run thing.
One of the most enjoyable games of SoG that I have had thanks to you.
Rob.

It certainly sounds like an exciting game. It seems to be a good example of 'snatching victory from the jaws of defeat'.
