I really like your background and ships

The background is some sheets of generic cloud covered card from Staples Darell. I then cut out some old railway scenics and pasted it onto the card.
The headlands and forts are of course Aries own for the game. Eventually I will get around to 3d forts and islands, but have a lot of aircraft to finish off first.

Funny you should say that Ed. Right from the time we started the School Wargames Club in the early 70's our dictum was to try and raise the standards of the background and surface layout in some way with each new show we attended.
Our club was actually credited with introducing the idea of AstroTurf terrain and embedding plastic rivers. Most clubs used flocked polystyrene and varnish for rivers at that time. things have moved along a lot since then. I well remember vac forming a set of bridges to do Vitoria.

Oh that table protector brings back flashbacks to my many years of Naval service. We refer to it as "nauga", for Naugahyde. I have taken many nauga naps, getting in 15 minutes of sleep between casualty drill scenarios. But I digress. Great setup.
