Got the game for Jul (Xmas), just played once but am already hooked. Lost my first 2 on 2 action pretty badly, when they French player outmaneuvered me and I was trying to be too clever. This game reminds me a bit of Wooden Ships and Iron Men (though it has been many years since I played) but maybe that is just because of similar theme.

Already decided to enlarge my navy with additional ships and an extra map. FLGS were all sold out so ordered off of the webs (seems to be selling out as I had to search a lot to find anyone in stock). If anyone is in CenTex let me know...

Welcome aboard, Finn. :salute:

We're setting up a 2015 solo campaign over the next couple of days. If you have any interest, let me know and I'll help you get set up. It is very causal and a lot of fun.

Ever play GMT's series Flying Colors?

Never played Flying Colors. Did play EiA where we resolved naval battles with WSaIM once, took almost 4 weeks, ahhh summer vacations.

I would be interested in a campaign, solo rules anywhere?

Funny you should mention Flying Colors Eric. The English online game reviewers "Shut Up and Sit Down" posted a video of Paul visiting Firaxicon and then to BGG Con. Go to 31:55 of the video and you'll see someone playing GMT's Flying Colors using Sails of Glory ships. Nothing more than a snippet but very cool to see our ships in action on a big playing surface.

Finn, here is a place to start regarding solo play, though it is a work in progress: http://sailsofglory.org/forumdisplay.php?41-2015-Solo-Campaign

Welcome aboard, Finn. I travel from Tucson, Arizona to north central Texas (Abilene area) about once a year. And I go to Sequin, just east of San Antonio. Maybe I could drop by for a game sometime.

Danke! Tack sa mycket (to lazy to use the correct keys).

I live just north of Austin, so about an hour and a bit from San Antonio, would be interested in games but because of irregular work hours from time to time would need advance notice.

Welcome Finn, I also started with WSIM many many years ago (oh and SPI Frigate), it would be easy enough to use those rules for fleet actions with SOG ships as the current rules are very good for smaller fights but not so much for the big battles.
