Hello all,
I show my latest work. A conversion of a ship SOG dutch war of the early eighteenth century.

For its realization has been necessary to modify the bowsprit and mizzen sail, typical of this era.

The color scheme used is the typical of the Dutch fleet.

Hope you like it.
Kind regards,
Julián.

Great job! It looks like you even built up the quarter gallery to look like ships of the period.:thumbsup:

Hello Coog,

This, I would have liked but it was not possible ... I tried to choose a hull that resembled Langton as much as possible but the ships in 1700 were very different that in 1750 ....
Still, I'm satisfied with the result.

yes, the first part of the XVIII century

Ok, thats the time spain was the main great power in europe.
From 1500 to around 1750 spain had its glorious time as world power and even after this until our time now you can see the influence of the spanish empire.

Anglo-Dutch war covers a long period of time ... 1652-1784
Ships in all this time suffered great changes that improved navigation.

I find it interresting that the most countrys had a very glorius time:

Italy -> Roman Empire
Greece -> Alexander the Great
France -> Ludwig XiV and Napoleon
Britain -> British Empire
Spain -> Spanish Empire
etc.

So many countries had a glorious time for more or less years and then another power emerges and move to the top, history is always repeating.

Which is why I didn't mention the A-D Wars -- none of them took place in the early 1700s:

1st: 1652 – 1654
2nd: 1665 – 1667
3rd: 1672 – 1674 (part of the larger Franco-Dutch War)
4th: 1780 – 1784 (part of the American Revolution)

3rd War comes closest but is a solid generation prior to the time of the mini in the OP. War of the Spanish Succession would be most appropriate for that mini.
