Since no one has put up a home port for California players, here's one.

I'm in Sonoma County, 50 miles north of San Francisco.
Haven't even played yet. Just ordered the Starter kit and two extra frigates. Making my own mat.
SoG is the first to lure me back to naval wargames -- the first one that's appealed to me since I wore out American Heritage "Broadside" waaaaay back in the mid '60s.

Hi Pappy, I'm in Sebastopol, about 50 mi N of you in western Sonoma County. I, too, just got the game and I'm new to it (although not new to wargaming).

Chiming in from the San Jose area, kinda new to war gaming, looking for people in the area who can show me the ropes, really interested in this game.

Hi there. I already posted in the Welcome Aboard thread, but thought I'd drop in here as I am also in California. I am in the Monterey area, about an hour and a half south of San Jose.

Not too far from me, then!
I'm in the San Jose area, slowly getting the group I play some other games with used to SoG, if you want I can see when the next game is, I think it's a few days before xmas. It's a bit of a drive for you, but, considering the sparsity of players in CA, we're probably the closest players for you.

That sounds great but I will be out of the area for Christmas. I am also getting my gaming group to play, so maybe we can get the two groups together for a massive engagement at some point.

It would probably only be me coming, the group is just 3 people, and one of them hasn't seen the game yet, the guy who has seen it, has very limited time he's able to play, due to work.

Thinking about running a few games at Kubla Con May 22nd to the 25th. I think a few beginner games and maybe 1 advanced game.
