1814 - Destruction of schooner Carolina, the last of Commodore Daniel Patterson's make-shift fleet that fought a series of delaying actions that contributed to Andrew Jackson's victory at the Battle of New Orleans. After loss of craft, the naval guns were mounted on shore to continue the fight.

Steve, do you have any good references for these actions? I have a large collection of schooners, brigs and other small craft and this could well be a good setting for some interesting games.

If memory serves, Patterson's force served much the same purpose as Benedict's Arnold's on Lake Champlain in the AmRev -- Patterson wasn't expecting to defeat the British, but to slow them down long enough for Jackson to pull his forces together.

what kind of details you looking for?

A good general coverage, but also enough to generate some scenarios or a small campaign game.
