View Full Version : Hello Friends
Hi all, my name is Evan, and I'm pretty much completely new to Wargaming. I've played Pathfinder for years, but Sails of Glory was the first wargame I bought (due to my obsession with Aubrey-Maturin predictably). Anyway, I am excited to get playing and to take part in this site, though I'm still not entirely sure how everything works.
Glad to be with you all, now let's get to playing, there's not a moment to be lost!
Welcome aboard, Evan. :salute:
Pathfinder was the gateway for me getting back to gaming after a multi-decade absence, and it was my wife's first experience with gaming. I have been impressed with the system.
You have joined at a great time. We are putting together a solo rule system and solo campaign. Please join us; the campaign starts 1 July. It is a very user-friendly set up, and we'll be happy to help along the way. I played in a solo campaign on the Aerodrome (Wings of Glory), and I learned a lot that way. You have the benefit of time when playing solo. If you're interested, let us know.
You have some fine Anchorage members in Washington.
Let us know if you need any help regarding the site, etc. Folks here will be happy to lend you a hand.

Bonjour, Evan.
Welcome on board.
I'm absolutely interested in the solo campaign, though I'm still making my way around the site and figuring out what everything is. You will certainly see me come the 1st.
Evan, choose any nation you would like to sail for. In this first campaign, it is wide open regarding fleets. Send me eight names for your ship captains, and PM me with an email address to invite you to the google spreadsheet roster. We will help you every step of the way.
Welcome aboard Evan. :salute: I'm off the beaten path up in Bellingham. Are you still out in the San Juans?
Paul, I live in Bellingham, just out Chuckanut.

Hi Evan, welcome....I am also pretty obsessed with the Patrick O'Brian series.....quality books and time well spent. I'm also still learning the rules but it's a great game.
I'm still working on my first read through (almost done with 13 Gun Salute), but I'm looking forward to re-reading already (Master and Commander has faded from my mind by now). I just got SoG a few days ago and the rules are mighty simple compared to D&D!
Welcome:beer: from Arizona, Evan. Sounds like you're off to a good start.

Awesome. I live on the northside of town. We'll have to try and hook up and play sometime.
