Yes you scurvy bilge rats, I am a female and a gamer and a lover of pirates

I was visiting me local game store and saw the game mat for Sails of Glory and started to inquire as to this game. The shop keeper informed me about it but only had the mat so I went home and started to do some searching on me own and found that this game sounded like it might offer this lass the glory she was seeking.

I scanned the horizon for sails and found a started all the way over in the Amazon of UK and I sought out this plunder and now have it in me hands.

I felt this game could offer up to me the pirate action I was seeking and it looked to be fun. I had no clue about the kickstarter until just recently and missed out on all the loot that was offered, especially one to be released that would be a mighty prize.

I now have all wave 1 ships on their way to me harbor, and many wave 2 being readied in the shipyards.

I look forward to me first naval action and have me mate press ganged into firing our broadsides once we have a sea to sail our ships on

So me hardy's, Hoist ye main sails, and scan the horizon, for this lass is out to plunder and fire her broadsides in battle.

Welcome aboard, Delaney. :rum:

There are a few pirates roaming these waters. You'll see their black flagged avatars in short order.

Welcome:beer: from Arizona, Delany. Are you going to order your mate to join the Wet Side?

My matey's ship has been boarded and he had no choice but to join or be marooned with a pistol, 1 bullet and a skin of water on an island in the middle of no where. He gladly joined the crew

OH and that is DelanEy (Delaney). But I prefer ye call me Mary Read

Had to throw the rum overboard to make room for the wódka.

AARRRRRRR Ye should be tied to the main mast and 50 lashes with the cat's tongue for that. Rum be what every good sailor... and pirate drinks while on ship and out seeking the prize

There be at least 4 lasses aboard this site and a ship load of pirates. :Arrrr:

Then I don't feel so alone with me ways and gender. A female amoungst a ship load of men can be harsh to us of the fairer gender. But as ye all know of the tales of Anna and Mary and even Grace and the most successful pirate ever known as Cheng I Sao

Mary Read, you are one among a few of the fairer gender here.

I can vouch for this shipmate, a fine woman indeed - http://sailsofglory.org/showthread.php?1750-Greetings - I especially found post #15 interesting.

I'd say from that one Eric or 7eat51 ... I have fine taste in a huge collection of boots. Part of this lasses booty gathering is to take the boots off commanders, but only so long as they fit me and are stylish. Yes... I do in fact love boots and have more than I could wear in a month.

Ahoy Mary Read! This past fall I ran some SGN demo games at Tacticon in Denver, so ye be coming to the the waters late. I was going to run some at GenghisCon back in Feb, but work got in the way. I'm planning on running more this year at Tacticon as well. I'm down in Colorado Springs and there is a group that plays on a semi regular basis down here as well (I don't make it to their games very often though). Do you have a group up there?

Not of yet. Haunted Game Cafe is where I found out about SoG and don't think they had any thing besides the mats. I have a guy that I RPG with every other week that used to do a ton of Napoleonics and used to play the Wooden Ships and iron Men game with the lead ships. I'll be seeing him next Saturday and I'm sure he will be hooked as he got hooked and started collecting the new Star Wars X-Wing game. Since this is similar plus Napoleonics, I am sure I will have him hooked.

The rest of my wave 1 ships (1 of each for now) and mats should be in today and will make it easier to play and possibly if I get free time to demo it up north at either Haunted or Griffon Games and Comics. Free time for me is not easy to come by :(. But fear not, I will be playing and play as much as time will allow

I don't make it to the cons (Free time thing). But one of these days i'm going to make time to go and when I do, i'll plan on playing SoG at a con

The Royal Hajj

Yeah, free time is hard to come by these days. between my career, the family, two rental properties, running this site and the Wings of Glory Aerodrome, and the Aerodrome/Anchorage Accessories business, I hardly ever get to actually play. I do make time to run quite a few convention games for others to play in though.
