I missed this sad news over the weekend. One of the few remaining Easy Company men. A true hero. As someone on another forum put it;
Gave up a reserved occupation to serve his country (he could have stayed home).
Volunteered for service as a paratrooper.
Court-martialed leaving the hospital before he was discharged to rejoin his unit at the front lines.
Lost his leg saving a buddy under fire.
"Thank you for your service" doesn't seem quite to cover it.
