Some bad experience with cards and wine led me to sleeve all the cards of the most playable games in my collection. Mayday Games has just released a special size card sleeves for the SGN. I bought it in one of my country online stores and sleeved my cards. They fit perfectly. Below you can see the label and sleeved C deck as an example.

Are these available in North America? I thought there was a delay and they wouldn't be here for some time? In any case they look great. Thanks for the news!

On the Mayday Web Site they had these particular sleeves listed as a pre-order item due for release in late March/early April! They said that two packs (100 sleeves each) would be enough to protect all the cards in one starter set and one Captain/Crew Deck.

Here is a link to the sleeves Andrzej has bought on the Mayday Games website http://maydaygames.com/card-sleeves/standard
Andrzej, I found that cheese and bread are much better compliments to wine than cards.

I have already sleeved my cards with these. Very useful as protection.
Unfortunately they are OOS in UK, due again in April I believe.
Te levees are not as thick as the Fantasy Flight ones but work well.

I had a player spill his water on cards and a ship mat in my convention game. Fortunately it was only water and we caught it fast. May get the sleeves and try them out. Ship mat is another issue though.

I have been thinking about asking players to keep their drinks off the table during games. Too much paper stuff here, not all of which is easy to replace.

I do it always, Eric. Wine glasses are strictly forbidden on the gaming table when paper stuff is all around. However, since I have almost all my WoG cards sleeved, white wine is allowed  The only drinks players may enjoy are those in stable hard glasses...uhm, you knowe what I mean: exactly this :rum:

I know I should search this on Aerodrome - but since you mentioned WoG - what size sleeves did you use or is it the same size as SoG?

No, Eric. Those are of different size, smaller.
I usually use: MAYDAY Mini European (45x68mm) 100/pack, however they are a bit too large.
These: MAYDAY Mini Chimera (43x65mm) 100/pack are too tight IMHO.
Hope that helps:)

Thanks. Also Mayday has the SoG cards on preorder for March 31.

I prefer "safer gaming" only for Games like Battlestar Galactica, Twilight Imperium 3rd edition or Twilight Struggle.
...but good information.
Guys, cards can be replaced, but the spilled wine never
I thought rum was the appropriate drink to go along with this game. But I'm just a beginner after all...
Thanks for the info on that. A good way to keep your cards. Something to consider.

I pre-ordered (10) packs of these things. I have a demo game in two weeks. I really hope they get these out the door really damned soon seeing as how Europe apparently has had them for a while.
