Now to find time to learn the game . . . where are my sons when I need them?

David,

Now that February is coming to an end you can plan on spending your March mad money to round out the rest of your collection of Wave 1 ships!!

At least now you're off to an excellent voyage upon the waves of Glory!!! :minis:

What about the elves? Don't they have some disposable income? :sly:

Will you be out this way again in the fall? If so, we'll plan a scramble that includes SoG in your honor.

My return conference is scheduled at the same place in mid July as I recall, I will look it up so plots can be made! : )

You have a port here, again, as desired, my Friend.

Sorting it all out . . . a bit intimidating for an old guy!

Getting used to all the bits, playing with the wind . . .

Need to sort out the bit system, so many things to keep together per ship . . . need more elves, this is definitely a more intense game than wow!

Hello Clipper1701,

Trust me on this one, clipping each corner of every counter is the thing which REALLY takes time! Of course, I had to do it for 2 sets of counters!
Take heart fellow captain, the rules are set up quite well - beginner, regular, advanced and optional rules. Each level is built on the previous "easier" rule set.
I GM'ed a skirmish between a couple of chums, just seeing how it actually works "in real life" and it seemed to go well. That was my warm up, since I'm introducing SoG to my gaming buddies, the Armchair Couch Pilots (yes, a Wings of War/Wings of Glory group).

i used a black marker and put a dot on the back of the 2nd set of counters while they were still in their "sprues".

The game looks daunting but the rules are very simple ... the advanced rules are intuitive and easy to follow as well. My advice is to skip the basic and start at the standard rule set and then move up to the advanced rule set.

I am an avid gamer and this game has outstripped almost all other tabletop mini games I play. It is easily as much fun as my favourites from the past. It is now in a tie with Infinity and Warmachine.
