What do you think about adding a "Wanted" section to the Market Place forum, where members put their needs with the price they're willing to pay?

And would there be a way to have them completely removed when completed to keep that forum from being too congested:question:

Good idea, Ed. Maybe just change the existing forum name to Buy-Sell-Trade?

Or how about "Ed's List"?

But think of the interesting new members we would get with Ed's List and their listings when conventions are held.

I think it would get a lot of use in time. That's why I added, "And would there be a way to have them completely removed when completed to keep that forum from being too congested"

Or just do something like us A&AM/WAS guys did at Forumini, allow members who so opt to have a permanent B-S-T list with those threads indexed in a Sticky at the top.

Ed, I like your WANTED idea a lot. For instance, I would be very interested in getting a second set of the two KS exclusive SOL 74's. My focus is to assemble enough of the 1st and 2nd rates to recreate some of the larger engagements, Frigates aren't really a priority for me.

This would have been a perfect example for the WANTED site. Being so specific, it may just suit someone to offload extra's if they are focused on the small frigate actions.

Thanks for suggesting this, great idea.

Sounds like a fine idea with excellent possibilities!:beer::clap:

Should be a great addition to the site as long as the OP keeps any thread up to date?

Maybe a Wanted sticky in the Sales forum. It would be best for someone to track the thread, and when a deal is concluded, to alert an admin to remove the associated posts.

In the OP, directions could be made to not go off topic, and to use the PM mechanism to interact. This would help keep the thread uncluttered.

Idea is fine. For starters, Eric's proposition is O.K.

Recently there was a fellow who posted under one of the headings that he was offering his KS pledge for sale. There were about three of us that responded, and I believe after just a couple of days the OP had edited his post to advise that the purchase had been completed. Though it wasn't stated specifically I imagine the first person who responded was the "lucky" guy who got it!! As an example of how a "Wanted" column could work I think it would work pretty well. It would only need a scheduled cleaning every couple of weeks, or once a month depending on total traffic during a given time I guess.

As someone who can't really find the starter set (either in all of the LGS in driving range of myself, or any of the online venues), I'd love to be able to post a BOUNTY thread in the hopes of getting one before Ares reprints.

BOUNTY: I will pay retail + shipping + enough for a sixer of your favorite beverage for your time if you happen to see a set in your LGS...

25 cent beer and free sandwiches are long gone. The sad part is, I remember them.

Beer:beer: is the answer.

But I can't remember the question.

"Most overrated 'beverage' in history?" :P

Oh, wait, that honor goes to almost anything from Starbucks, followed by most energy drinks... LOL

Hooray for beer! *Clinks Ed's glass*

Now to find that newspaper hat I thought I'd have to shelve for a few months, cut open some shrink wrap, and get started!

I'm glad I'm still at the point where, despite being in all intents and purposes a grown ass man in society, receiving toy ships in the mail still makes me smile like a kid.

But, this time, I can drink...

Don't feel alone:drinks:. Fifteen years from now, if you see an old guy in a walker heading for the mail box with a grin on his face, that will be me hoping wave 32 came in.
