Side Note: One of the reasons Horatio Nelson was so beloved by the sailors was his practice, on arriving in harbor, of making sure every available bite of fruit and vegetable was acquired for his force -- IIRC, his forces had much lower rates of death from scurvy and related deficiency diseases.
