Bionic wookie, we're close enough that we could get in a game. Is there much support for SOG in OKC?

You may be landlocked, but you somehow managed to get a submarine for the WWII memorial and get it into town... LOL

Welcome aboard!

Thanks all! You are referring to the USS BATFISH! It is an awesome WWII Submariner (Pronounced sub-mariner, btw) memorial. They brought the BATFISH up the river, so we are not completely landlocked! LOL (Yes, that is stretching it to the breaking point!)

Hello and thanks for the welcome! Yes, myself and several of the Grognards are assembling fleets, although with my new Grandson, a lot of my time has been taken up holding the little tyke! Are you in Tulsa? If so, how is the game received there?

How does one "Report Aboard"? I want my little tick mark to go green like everyone else's! LOL

Hello. Yes there are a fair number of players in OKC. All that I know are based out of Games HQ on the south side. I know of about 6 who are actively playing and another 8 or 10 who have bought the starter set. If you're planning to be in OKC, give a shout and we'll try to set up a game or three.

Tim, that's your "Reputation"--you'll get some soon enough, it comes when people "like" your posts.

And, when somebody says something you want to give a +1 for, click the little sheriff's badge next to the post, it really is that simple. :)

Re Batfish, I was down at Tinker AFB for something to do with the B-52 50th Anniversary party and had a day to kill before I was due back up in Wichita, so the 45th Infantry Division Museum and surroundings got added to the itinerary. Looked kinda funny seeing a submarine sitting on grass in a ditch... LOL Hopefully, someone's chipped in to improve her display and provide better context for her preservation (and maybe slapped on a fresh coat of paint too LOL) over the past ten years. :)

Thanks for the explanation.

RE: BATFISH I have not been there since my children were 10 and 8, so I am not an authority. It was a wonderful day trip for us - well, unique at least. I cannot imagine they pull down much in the way of cash from the memorial, which is sad, considering the effort that went into its creation.

The 45th Infantry Division Museum is undergoing some work as we speak, I think only for the front parking lots. I am unaware of any new additions, but it is also a really neat effort for a unit with an amazing history.

Should you ever drift towards OKC again, let me know! It would be fun to meet at Game Headquarters and play some SOG:N.

Welcome Tim.

I would assume you are familiar with Prairie Schooners, OK, so they have wheels. I bet you could get them to float though....

Actually, the prairie schooners could float. That is how one made some fords! I doubt that any ever had any gun ports or a "broadside", however! LOL
