Eric, I know what you mean, but I think with custom ratlines, rigging and a quick wash they'll look great. From the Langton build directions the foremast should be slightly forward, and the main and mizzen masts slightly aft. The fact that the masts are straight up and the yards not angled might be what's odd looking? The space between the foremast and the main mast looks too large, but is comparable to the Langton ships (see the Orient in my avatar). The square upper masts sure don't look right, but again the ratlines and rigging will cover that up. I am glad to see that they furled the bowsprit sail. It will make rigging a bit easier.

Please note that none of this is complaining by the way, just observations in reply to your reaction to the new 1st rates.
