View Full Version : Scenario Ideas From "On This Day"

There have been a lot daily events posted over the past couple of years that would have given some ideas for historical scenarios. I had later wished that I had recorded them some way for future use. Now that I am organizing all the daily event posts into a consecutive thread, I have the opportunity to see them all again. As I run across events that look like scenario material, I'll post them on this thread.

Although the types of SoG ships are limited for now, I'll be posting scenarios that could likely be used in the future as more SoG models become available, have substitutions made for unavailable models with available ones, or use ships from a different manufacturer. I won't go into the details of setting up the scenario, but leave it to you to read through the event and pick out what parts appeal to you. Most scenarios will be for typical games involving a relatively small number of ships instead of huge fleet actions. I'll also post scenarios for ideas that have been discussed such as cutting out actions involving small boats.

I'll attempt to make each post such that you may scroll through the thread and be able to see something that interests you without having to read through every event.

On 5 September 1813, the USS Enterprise of 16 guns with 102 men sighted HMS Boxer of 14 guns with 66 men off Pemaquid Point, Maine, and closed on the enemy brig. British Captain Samuel Blyth prepared for a fight to the finish, nailing one's flag to the foremast. In the Enterprise, Lieutenant William Burrows demonstrated similar resolve.
