Pardon the cross over mates! Just wanted to post my latest voyage into the storms of war . . .

1/200" scale series of the 7 carriers in the Battle of Midway . . . translates to around 48"

Let the madness begin.

Have you recruited aquatic elves for SoG builds?

Clipper1701

Yes, sea elves, however they only drink rum and eat salt water taffy-making my other elves jealous : )

Very cool! Would make a great scenario setting for some WW2 WoG action.

How about having the elves work on one of the earliest aircraft carriers? HMS Argus. Just a little too late for WW1 airplanes, but maybe another scenario in the making?

Ships can really try one's patience, so many details, guns, cannons, life boats, search lights, steps, ladders . . . .

I've just started working on the Langton French 120 ship. I'm assuming this is an Ocean class 1st rate, but it's not entirely clear from the Langton website? They have generic numbering; NF9 and NF10. Rory, Vol or anyone know for certain which class this is?

October's almost over.

I hope my November drydock will be full of SGN:minis::minis::minis: modifications.

No I don't Jim. I have the Ocean class GHQ ship for comparison but I've found that isn't much help between manufacturers. They are so different. Just paint it as an Ocean class and enjoy is my advice. Rory has scolded me on more than one occasion for being too picky about "accuracy".

My plans are to finish the Dutch fleet, start on my Spanish fleet, and complete two islands I started.

Adding to my chaos, I no longer get postings from this site in my e-mail box. Jim, NF9 and NF10 is "at quarters" and guns in ports closed. The had only a small number of 120 gun ships in the Napoleonic wars. I would not know if it was a "Ocean class" or not. I used to get hang-up about facing colours on Napoleonic armies in 15mm. Also on battalion made-up for each army. But as rules started to be based on men numbers and not the formations of each country. I lost interests in land warfare. I keep looking at my 3 big 15mm armies and think about re-basing them to play with modern rules, Be the idea of lots of blocks of soldiers and cavalry all the same is just to much. So thousands of models just sit and do nothing. Jim, Vol do not let that happen to your ships. It is not nice.
I'm finishing my merchant fleet. Then my Langton islands. I am making up lists for my Swedish fleet and will order them in a week or two.
Be safe
Rory

Just show me the drawings . . . I am plotting some SOG projects for when they become available, not one to sit and play limited to the production minis! its a big ocean/sky out there!
