A magnificent book. Lighter reading but very concise and well written. Each of the 8 chapters has a couple pages about the subject and each image (nearly 200) has a paragraph or two about naval engagements, ships, personalities, weapons etc... Covers the Seven Years War through to steam age. I really like the artwork displayed in this large format. The book is large 14.5 x 17.4 inches and 7 pounds of over the top, centerpiece book. If you like the age of sail and like to look at engaging masterfully painted and drawn images of naval warfare this book is a deal at around $30.00-US. Recommended.
