This weekend is the National Historical Miniature Gaming Society Enfilade Convention. The fun takes place from Friday May 24th to Sunday May 26th in Olympia Washington. In addition to a full weekend of Wings of Glory we are lucky to announce a demonstration of the Sails of Glory Game System. I'd like to thank Ares Games for the honor of letting us use a copy of the Sails of Glory Box Set. The demonstration will take place on Saturday May 25th from 2 to 6pm. Come and join in the fun and get a sneak peak at an exciting new game.

Sorry I was unable to make it down to Olympia this past weekend Doug. How did it go?

Yes, please tell, and with pictures if possible.

It does seem odd though to have what looks like a clear base on top of a colored base.

The event went great. I was swamped with people so I wasn't able to take any pictures myself but I'm working on getting pictures from others that were there. We taught over 25 people the basic game and took questions from twice that many people. Overall everyone loved the game and amazingly enough most of the players pledged on Kickstarter. The games were quick and deadly with everyone deciding to get in close and personal. A lot of close range shots and musketry were exchanged with many sailors giving there lives to the cause. Most ships blew up but a few were stripped of their sailors. After the teaching phase we held a couple larger battles that were equally as deadly.

I had a lot of long time naval wargamers comment how much they liked the miniatures. They were impressed by the details and paint jobs on the ships. The only jokes I heard was they needed rigging.

Sails of Glory was a big hit and the two biggest questions were how much will it cost and when will it come out. I'd like to thank Ares Games for letting us show off the game. I'll work on getting pictures up soon.

I see nothing.....

The name's "_Sails of Glory_", not "_Ships of Glory_".

Right now, it isn't a huge problem; but what happens if Ares releases another naval game for the steam-and-later period? :)

I hope they'll call it Steam for Glory.

I'd play the game. Ironclads would be fun.

Iron Glory = ironclads = civil war
Steel Glory = battleships = turn of the century
Nickle Glory = dreadnaughts = ww1
stainless glory = superdreadnaughts = ww2

Paul, the Red Lion is only a problem if you...
1. Are a nondriver
2. Have a relative (who IS the driver of the household) with virtually zero walking endurance who prefers to be bedridden all weekend other than the loo
3. Actually like a DECENT cable package between sessions other than "All Jock Sniffing All The Time Channel"
4. Prefer a better variety of dining options than just the overpriced hotel dining room (which goes back to Problem 2)

Other than having all of these in play at once...
