While looking for painting information on Spanish ships I found this site off of "The Miniatures Page". A quick search of the Anchorage didn't turn this up so I hope I'm not repeating information already known? If you have Google Chrome it will provide translation, but even without that you can still view ship lists, paintings and other data. Navigation can be a bit tricky, but lots of good stuff here if you're willing to spend some time digging.

This is the section I've spent some time on, primarily looking at the paintings and images.

And I've looked at a lot of information here too.

Very nice resource.

There are many online translation tools to make this site accessible. This is one of the better ones I have used: http://translation.babylon.com/spanish/to-english/

Do we have any Spanish speakers here who would be willing to translate?

Hey Chris, you can copy whole sections and drop them into the program I linked to above.

Here, for example, is the translation of the first paragraph for the 74-gunner Terrible, and it took about 2-3 seconds:

In 1780, according to Royal Order, was the first ship of the Royal Navy to be classified as ship of 74 guns, instead of the previous classification of 70 canyons as was the case until then. It was designed by Edward Bryant. He was called Terrible under the patronage of Saint Paul the Apostle. The vessel was launched on 9 November 1754, at the price of 289,589 pesos, quite high according to some.
