Has anyone else spotted the "deliberate mistake" in the header illustration at the top of the website? :)

Can I plead ignorance as my reason for saying "no"??

I'll try a guess, is the flag the wrong period for the ship??

No I didn't notice, but also didn't look closely

I think the wrong direction of the flag like Italian 500 lire metal coin Columbus ship! A numismatic rarity!!

Ah, I believe you are correct sir. Don't see the obvious until it's pointed out.

 The most common error drawing a sailing ship... My congrats David!

Obviously Royal Hajj will have wanted to see if the new crew studied (I would not spend the next day washing the deck of the ship!) ;)

Well spotted. I have been moaning for years about our local pub "The Admiral Rodney" The pub sign depicts "The Glorious 12th of June". Not only are the ensigns flying against the wind, but the Royal Naval one is complete with the Red Saltire of Ireland and the French one is the Tricolour instead of the Bourbon colours.
I noticed last time I passed that they have now replaced it with a portrait of the Admiral.

As I seem to have offended some shipmates with this post I have withdrawn it.

Nelson couldn't resist with his plonker either.
Rob.

I've different translations of the term "plonker" I can suppose that David's reprimand justifies my confusion about the meaning of your posts.

Let's skip these posts! We're already at the ancorage, not in the high seas! We're gentleman, aren't we?

Somehow I am glad I am a bit naive here... and Attilio has it dead on... we are gentlemen. It is one of the best things about the Wing of Glory site, and should be one of the founding principals of this site.

IMHO.

Yes, Ken! ;)

Even if sometimes the talk around a bottle of rum leave any doubt ...:o

So we must remember not to be in the captain's cabin miles and miles away from the ground when you are at anchor :( (especially if the dictionary does not help to understand the meaning of the beats, sic!)
