Well, I guess this is my 1,000th post. It seems only fitting to ruminate for a moment on the past few months. So I have compiled a list of how fortunate I have been to be a part of the Anchorage thus far.

The top 10 benefits I have experienced from joining the Anchorage:
10. I have learned a bit about folks' countries, local histories, customs, and languages.
9. I have learned about 3D printing, quite unexpectedly I might add - thanks Bruce.
8. I have been introduced to AoS modeling, and, thusly been encouraged to try my hand this summer -special thanks Vol and Rory.
7. I have been introduced to new games, such as ancient naval warfare.
6. I have been introduced to wonderful books - special thanks to Bobby.
5. I have shared the SoG kickstarter with all of you.
4 I have learned a great deal about AoS history, sailing, and technical ship information.
3. I have received advice, documents, game rules, etc. through PMs and private emails.
2. I have shared interesting, informative, humorous, and at times corrective, conversations via our postings.

But, by far, the number one benefit from having joined the Anchorage ...
1. I have gained some new friends.

Thank you. :hatsoff:

Nicely done. I think this post should be stickied or linked off site to show others the great communities we have here (and WoG Aerodrome) that Oberst Mods for us all. WoG is the most unique game that I play in that it gives me something to do with the game outside of play. I am sure SoG will do the same.

Congratulations to you, sir! And to echo what others have said, it is us who should be thanking you. Your presence here is invaluable to the sense of community.

All I can say is that I hope it doesn't take me 1000 posts to learn the lessons that you have already learned.

Conghratulations on your 1000 and for the list you put out. As I have never played any age of sail games this has been a great learning experience for those with great knowledge. Thanks to all.
