On the 11th of April 1783, the Continental Congress proclaimed the cessation of arms with Great Britain. The war officially ended on September 3, 1783 with the signing of the Treaty of Paris.

Not to be overly technical about it, but shouldn't it be that the *Continental Congress* proclaimed the cessation of conflict? The Constitution of the United States of America would not be drafted for another 4 years or so.
