Default What's on your workbench for June?

At last after several false starts I have finally managed to glue up the final four pieces of landscape.
Here they are sealed with PVA drying and waiting for a first undercoat. Should be done in a few minutes in this heat. I could not glue up yesterday because the glue was drying to fast to get the clamps on.

    Now the enjoyable bit starts.

Gremlin grip ordered... now trying to assess how many SGN ships need rework and figure out if anybody might be up for a contract repair reworking masts.
    --SGN109, 6x (swap w/SGN110)
    --SGN110, 6x (swap w/SGN109)

And a decision... my uncle's an old Navy vet, so I'm thinking to send him what would be my second Bonhomme Richard. Should I send him a "Factory Spec" model, or an accurized one that's done a mast-swap with a Tonnant?

I'm afraid that a mast swap might look strange. There looks to be a size difference on the mizzen masts.

So kind of a transitional "semi-gaff," without a lower boom?

If that's from Boudriot's book that's supposed to be the plan set Ares used, on my specific recommendation and after my, ah, *very vocal* rejection of the toyishly-inaccurate Revell kit as any kind of data source.

I will run you through the entire process Julián though I'm sure you do not need it after all your magnificent work.
It is really intended for beginners, and I will eventually turn it into a "How to". rather than leave fragments all over the different What's on your workbench Months.

Today using the piece of terrain from my harbour modules as a guide I proceeded with the grass texturing of the hillsides.

Firsty I applied another coat of PVA.

Then I shook over it my green flock undercoat.

Once that was done I repeated for the other pieces until I had the result below with a bit of Static green to give some texture.

I then left it to dry fully.
Tomorrow hopefully adding trees and completing the cliffs and beach.

    Thanks Sven.
I should get it finished tomorrow if the heat holds.
It is going to help with the Glue and paint drying quicker.
I am sending you a PM in a few minutes time.

    Here we are then.
For the next step I am employing these materials.

    Name: IMG_4657.jpg
Views: 315
Size: 193.9 KB

From left to right they are:-
Fine grit, coarse grit, static grass, clumped flock as used for trees.
In the foreground is cork bark for large rocks and outliers.

    Name: IMG_4658.jpg
Views: 271
Size: 207.9 KB

I have just glued the clumped flock in place with Special sticky glue.
After this dries in about 20 minutes time I will start work on the Beach.

During the day I have, added the beach material, painted the surf line and done a bit of highlighting and dry brushing.

Now it is off to the workshop for a final spray with matte varnish whilst the warm weather lasts.
Tomorrow I will photograph the finished coastal effect.

    Very nice.
It's a great idea to make them as the official coastlines as you now can recreate all official scenarios with great looking 3D-terrain.

Yes Jonas, although it meant doing some of the handed peninsulas both ways up, i now have everything excepting some of the coastal batteries. But as I have fortifications which I can move about I can place these in more places than the card ones allow.
